Shearn Delamore & Co. is proud to be one of the supporting partners for the second SuperCharger’s Fintech Accelerator Programme held in Kuala Lumpur this year.
On 19 September 2018, during the programme’s “Launch and Induction” week, our partners and associates from the Technology and Communications Practice Group hosted a legal workshop exclusively for Supercharger’s top 10 finalists at DOJO, Kuala Lumpur, as part of our initiative to help support Supercharger’s cause in cultivating local entrepreneurship and talent amongst the Fintech companies.
Attendees were briefed on the law in relation to doing business in Malaysia and aspects of the Companies Act 2016, an introduction to the regulation of financial services and capital markets as well as how the regulators currently promote innovation in these sectors, intellectual property protection, employment and immigration (work permits).
The workshop was concluded with a casual and interactive Q&A session.
