On 13 April 2019, the Bar Council Cyber Laws Committee, in collaboration with the US Department of Justice and US Embassy of Kuala Lumpur, organised a workshop on “Digital Evidence” with the aim of introducing participants to the fundamentals of digital evidence, online investigations and digital forensic analysis. Our associate from the Telecommunications, Media & Technology Practice Group, Sharveena Thevy, participated in the workshop.
This workshop featured speakers who are leading individuals in the area of Cybercrimes such as Mr. Thomas Dougherty, the Regional Legal Advisor for Cybercrime, US Department of Justice, U.S Embassy-Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Mr. Ovie Carroll and Mr. Dan Ogden, the Director and Senior Digital Forensic Investigative Analyst from the U.S. Department of Justice (Cybercrime Lab) at Washington D.C.
Dr. Gita Radhakrishna, Deputy Dean of Research at Multimedia University, Faculty of Law also took the opportunity to share her knowledge on the admission and authentication of Digital Evidence during the finale of the workshop.
