Covid19 Support – Shearn Delamore on 7 April 2020, after advising clients and dealing with the everchanging situation in the past weeks, held a virtual roundtable with delegates from Malaysia and abroad. The Managing Legal Risks Malaysia COVID-19 Roundtable format was designed to provide businesses with a contemporaneous and practical interdisciplinary response to the situation.
Speakers Yee Mei Ken (Dispute Resolution, #meikenyee), Michelle Wong Min Er (Corporate/M&A, #michellewongminer), Anand Raj (Tax, Antitrust, Competition), Irene Yong (Tax, Data Protection) and Karen Abraham (Intellectual Property, #xxxxxx) provided a roundup of the immediate legal issues and solutions to the current problems caused by the pandemic.
After which, moderator Yee Mei Ken (#meikenyee) and other speakers discussed the key considerations and actions Malaysian businesses should take to manage the legal risks associated with COVID-19 and be ready post the Malaysian Movement Control Order. In every crisis, there are opportunities. We concluded the conference on a high note with the aim to flatten the curve and then for all to be back in business as usual.
